Sustainable 3D-Printed Floors

Aectual Flooring is Made by Robots to Customize Large Spaces

These 3D-printed floors are a sustainable and customizable flooring solution. Dutch company Aectual installed their first floor at Tokyo's flagship Loft store and plan on installing a new floor next month at Amsterdam's Schipol Airport.

Aectual uses enormous robots to 3D print custom designs on large enough surfaces for public spaces. They "enable designers and companies to realize tailor-made designs at any building" to build a more beautiful and resilient future. The environmentally friendly venture uses a recycled bio-plastic material for their 3D-printed floors with a terrazzo infill. Designed to last a long time, Aectual floors translates one of a kind design into signature flooring. The product was officially launched recently (October 21) at Dutch Design Week.
