In celebration of the 2014 Year of the Horse, pastry brand E-g-sain Co. Ltd. commissioned Taiwan's MURA agency to develop packaging that celebrates this particular animal of the Chinese lunar calendar.
MURA sourced from the great dynasty of Tang in the 7th century, where horses were revered by emperors, poets and painters and celebrates equines by bringing in popular motifs from Chinese culture. Each of the boxes and their wraps are slightly different, highlighting elements like Chinese brush paintings, the lucky color red, stars, flowers and gold coins.
The Golden Horse Year campaign for E-g-sain is also carried through to the packaging for its pastries, which are presented to match the gift boxes, making them a present anybody would be lucky to receive.
