It's hard not to love a nice glass of wine with dinner, but in London, a $117,000 bottle of wine was recently purchased. The record-breaking bottle of vino was bought by a former sommelier (or wine steward) named Christian Vanneque.
The 200-year-old bottle of 1811 Chateau d'Yquem breaks the world record for most expensive bottle of wine, a record that was previously held by a $100,000 1787 bottle from the same Bordeaux chateau.
Vanneque is quite a wine connoisseur himself, having been a sommelier at Parisian restaurant La Tour d'Argent and one of the experts at the 1976 Judgment of Paris wine tasting.
He plans to drink the $117,000 bottle of wine in six years to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of his career as a sommelier.
