1100 Architect's home design is all about giving its occupants the best view possible.
Situated on tiny Ikema Island in Japan, the concrete domicile is propped up on stilts to vault it over a bluff on the seaside edge of the property. The main living areas for the holiday home are within this propped up concrete volume. These rooms have windowed walls on the seaward side, giving their occupants a stunning view of the East China Sea.
The entry to the holiday home is on the ground level, inside of a concrete plinth. The ground level also has room for a garage and mechanical services. The upper volume contains the more commonly frequented rooms, including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining and living area.
