The Yun House is a boutique eco resort in the quaint farming town of Yangshuo. The resort overlooks the peaceful and serene Li River. The hotel consists of nine renovated farm houses that have been converted into private living quarters for guests. An additional farm house was built to house a restaurant for visitors. Because many villagers still live nearby, the Yun House opted to blend in with the local architecture and culture, fusing its tradition with modern furnishings.
The contrast between old and new is continuously played out in the hotel's interior. Textures like bamboo, wood, galvanized steel and concrete are used in the bedrooms to further depict the relationship between traditional and contemporary elements. The resort's exterior gives the impression of a quiet local village, while its interiors feature a completely modern aesthetic.
