Casey Edwards, whose deviantART username is basicnoir, just took two epic franchises and mashed them together into the awesome-drenched illustrations that are this X-Men Mario mash-up.
Sure, anyone can take two popular series and dress the characters in each other's clothes, but Edwards actually has the artistic chops to make this series of pictures memorable rather than just a blundering art disaster. His use of vibrant colors perfectly emulates the pages of comic book panels, and did I fail to mention he casted Mario as Wolverine? How badass is that?
My favorite illustration though has got to be Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong who are re-imagined as Colossus and Nightcrawler. What a solid pairing.
