Health Startup Writi Pinpoints Healthcare Inefficiencies

Writi Virtual Healthcare, a new Canadian telemedicine startup, recently announced efforts to reduce the number of deaths in long-term care homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its new PHIPA and HIPPA-complaint telemedicine solution will now be implemented at Brampton’s Holland Christian Homes — a location where 16 residents and four staff tested positive for COVID-19—to help staff safely manage the health of residents with the support o physicians.
Writi Virtual Healthcare also partnered with PointClickCare, MED e-Care, Telus Health(Kroll) to help reduce inefficiencies in administrative tasks to give staff more time to focus on caring for residents. The technology is able to electronically prescribe medications to pharmacies, schedule safe and convenient virtual visits and appointments, implement virtual visits through high definition video call, secure instant messaging for staff and patients, add ordres automatically to residents digital record on the platform, and give remote access to medication history through its Telus Health Kroll partner.
