To celebrate World Book Day 2016, the World Book Day organization has arranged a series of school workshops to go along with its annual book voucher giveaway. For 19 years now, National Book Tokens Ltd. and the World Book Day organization have been providing millions of children in the UK and Ireland with discount book vouchers. This year, the celebration features a more interactive element, with the addition of in-school workshops.
As part of the World Book Day 2016 celebration, the organization will be donating more then 14 million £1 World Book Day book tokens to children across the UK and Ireland. Children can then take their token to any book store and trade it in for any of the 10 free World Book Day books. In addition to the free books, children can also attend World Book Day-sponsored workshops. These workshops combine drama, visual arts and role-play to promote literacy and foster a lifelong love of reading.
