Uber created a new section of the app named ‘Work Hub,’ which will be able to inform Uber drivers of work opportunities at other organizations. The Work Hub section of the platform was created in partnership with Dominos, Shipt, CareGuide. Additionally, the company will also inform driver s about employment opportunities at McDonald’s, FedEx, UPS, Pepsi, Hertz, and Walgreens.
Overall the new section of the app could help drivers who are temporarily unemployed as a result of the coronavirus. This is because the Uber platform is seeing severely reduced traffic as many people are remaining at home for extended periods of time, in order to slow the spread of the virus. However, the new tab is currently only available for drivers located in the United States.
