This Angular Wooden Apartment Building is Vibrant and Sleek

There is something about this angular wooden apartment building that just wants to make you smile. It could be the bursts of orange windows in contrast to the typical, subtle colors surrounding it or it could be its non-standard shape that gives it the charm. Whatever it is, this wooden apartment building by French studio Vous Êtes Ici Architectes has character and shares it's jovial vibe with the rest of the buildings surrounding it in this Paris neighborhood.
Home to 11 social housing units, this six-storey building is surrounded by a pair of gardens at the north and south-east edges.
"The building is set back from the street, allowing the sunlight to reach the school courtyard set across the street," say studio founders Alexandre Becker, Paul Pflughaupt and Julien Paulré. "This setup allows respiration and gives space back to the pedestrian passage."
