The Swedish capital city of Stockholm is set to become the home of 'Stockholm Wood City,' a gigantic and record-breaking wooden construction development that will include as many as 2,000 residential dwellings as well as retail spaces and offices built largely from timber.
The 'Stockholm Wood City' is set to take over a space of 250,000 square meters, which will and truly enables it to lay claim to being the largest wood-based construction project in the world. The development is set to comprise buildings of different heights and shapes, with designs that aim to showcase the natural aesthetic value of wood. What's more, 'Stockholm Wood City' will also feature solar panels to mitigate utilization of electricity from the grid, while ample greenery will be a significant signature benefit of the project.
Construction on the wood city is set to begin in 2025, with the initial structures set to be readied a couple of years later.
