Vancouver Will Be the First Canadian City to Offer Free WiFi in Taxis

As a result of an exciting partnership recently announced by Telus and Yellow Cab, the city of Vancouver will be the first in Canada to boast free WiFi capabilities in a taxi fleet.
The program will be free for users of any mobile provider and will be accessible through a splash page that will instantly connect riders to the network. The process has been designed to be as easy to use as possible and without the communication of any private information from the user.
This new system of free WiFi in cabs will be rolled out in each of Yellow Cab's 350 taxis and is planned as a one-year trial program to be extended if successful. Telus was also recently announced as the City of Vancouver's official free wireless provider at 43 locations offered by the municipal bodies.
