Local studio Vallribera Arquitectes relied on minimalist sensibilities when designing this white-painted modern home in Mataró, Barcelona. The firm strategically created subtle contrasts throughout the formal elements of the interior decor to generate an eye-catching design.
The white-painted modern home spans three stories. Dubbed 100JOA, Vallribera Arquitectes needed to think strategically about the design as the structure "occupied a tight row-house site." The interior of the structure features a skylit metal case that contrasts with the white walls. However, this combination calls for maximizing the influx of light in the home and generally creates a brighter atmosphere for the family who owns the house. Vallribera Arquitectes also brings the outdoors closer to this site as the studio created "a series of terraces that overlook the garden."
