WhatsApp is expanding its customization options with the addition of WhatsApp backgrounds, which gives users the ability to choose from a selection of wallpapers created for the app, or upload their own photo.
The backgrounds can be accessed by clicking on the chat group name, and then accessing the conversation settings. By clicking on the newly added 'Wallpaper & Sound' feature, users can browse through the different wallpaper options and test them out before adding one to make sure it's not too distracting.
As Life Hacker explains, this allows users to customize each conversation, however they can also choose to set a custom default background for all of their conversations by going into their general WhatsApp settings.
