Electric vehicle charging stations are becoming more commonplace in many public parking lots but still require a physical connection to power up the car, which is something the conceptual 'Watt' EV charger is designed to change.
The Wireless Advanced Transportation Charging Tile is designed to be installed at existing parking spots and would only require drivers to pull up into position to start the charging process. This is thanks to the wireless connectivity that would seamlessly convey power to the vehicle at all times when stationary and allow drivers to easily leave at their leisure.
The conceptual 'Watt' EV charger is the design work of Cheolhee Lee, Na Gyeong Lee, Junsik Oh and Kyoung-Seo Park, and identifies what could be done to help streamline charging access.
