One of Columbia Sportswear's newest pieces of protective outerwear is a waterproof outdoor jacket that features a blend of insulation. As part of its Fall 2016 lineup, Columbia's 'Gold Down Jacket' keeps wearers warm with an all-nylon shell, plus a mix of 650 fill power down insulation and goose down.
On the outside, the Gold Down Jacket is powered by OutDRY technology, which is breathable, yet keeps its user completely warm and dry. Close to the skin, this fabric technology wicks away moisture. On top of this, the design also features patent-pending seam taping and a water-resistant zipper that ensures no leaking will happen, even in the most extreme conditions.
Rather than trying to block out all wetness and moisture, as many standard waterproof jackets do, this one's breathable design allows it to prevent wetness from permeating over time.
