This Waterfront Building Pays Tribute to Rock Formations

Highly celebrated Dutch architecture firm MVRDV has completed work on a waterfront building, situated in the city of San Francisco, whose design pays tribute to the rock formations that the state of California is so renowned for.
Aptly named 'The Canyon,' this particular waterfront building's design is headlined by a uniquely canyon-shaped space that carves through the development on a diagonal angle. In addition to being visually striking, this canyon-esque feature helps act as a link to amenity spaces and building offices, whilst also serving as a short-cut into the surrounding neighborhood.
"The walls of the canyon and of the eastern side of the tower are jagged with step-backs and overhangs giving the impression of steep rocky walls," MVRDV stated.
