The Ridiculously Fuel-Efficient Volkswagen XL1 is Headed into Production

Good news out of Germany: Volkswagen has announced that the ridiculously fuel-efficient XL1 will go into production. For those of you who don't know, the Volkswagen XL1 is a two-seat concept car with a 1-liter hybrid engine that can get a astounding 261 miles per gallon.
Production on the Volkswagen XL1 is set to begin sometime in 2013, with only 100 being created. Seeing as how oil is a nonrenewable resource, I would say odds are that the Volkswagen XL1 will be a huge hit, especially in America where people love to complain (myself included) about high gas prices and where hybrid cars like the Prius and Volt are growing in popularity.
