Vessel Video Provides Incentives for Its Content Creators

The Vessel video platform launched by Hulu's Former CEO Jason Kilar is a new YouTube competitor that offers more curated content and better perks for content creators.

In terms of what a content creator can expect to earn, Vessel promises 60% of the site's subscription revenue and 70% of the ad revenue, in addition to an incentive for video creators to lure their audiences from one platform to another, with $7 per referral for conversions to paid subscribers—as a viewer, it's $2.99 a month to subscribe and the service can be accessed online as well as though mobile apps.

Kilar describes that: "We want to help content producers create valuable businesses built for Internet audiences. By giving them the economic means to do that, we believe we’ll see an improvement in the quality of media enabled through better equipment, writing and production."
