With consumer demands for more sustainable products increasing, many sportswear brands have launched eco-friendly sneakers and famed activewear brand Nike is no exception -- the company partnered with clothing brand Maharishi to release a custom Vegan Nike Air Max 90 in an iconic Maha Olive colorway.
The Maharishi x Nike Air Max 90 boasts an organic cotton upper that has been naturally dyed using pomegranate and turmeric. The outsole has been made from "Nike Grind," a sustainable rubber made from recycled athletic footwear and manufacturing scraps. The other signature details, including the logo and TPU elements, are made from sawdust that was created from the shipping palettes delivered to make the pigmentation for the shoe.
The Maharishi x Nike Air Max 90 will be available at maharishi flagship stores in New York and London and online for $150 USD.
