Plenty of designers have taken up the challenge of developing a lightweight, portable, affordable and effective disaster shelter, with the goal of providing prompt protection for survivors of natural disasters. The V Plus Emergency Relief Tent is one such proposal, but it offers quite a few more perks than many previous ideas have.
A fairly large group of people collaborated on this project, ending up with a modular tent to be covered in a fabric of flexible solar panels. The energy generated by the sun can be put towards illuminating the lightbulb in the supportive pole, while all extra power is stored in the battery below as a reserve for a range of applications. The V Plus Emergency Relief Tent can also be combined with others of its kind to make increasingly large refuges for greater numbers of occupants.
