Architects Pedro Livni and Rafel Solano have designed a unique medical office hidden behind a large concrete wall in Ciudad de la Costa, Uruguay. The office is home to a psychologist's practice and is located within a garden on a large property.
The structure is hidden by the large concrete wall that runs the full width of the building. Only a singular door and circular opening connect the indoor space with the outdoors. The design was inspired by American artist Gordon Matta-Clark, whose works often involve large openings in concrete walls. The front door leads the patient into the psychologist's office, while the circular window connects the garden courtyard with the outdoors.
The psychologist's office is completed with large windows that allow natural light to shine through. Thus creating a space in tune with the natural environment.
