A side of a building never looked as aesthetically pleasing as this wall, covered by 'Urban Nests' by Dom Arquitectura does. This design is beneficial to both the citizens of Barcelona and birds as it tackles art and natural conservation in one go. It consists of 20 handmade birdhouses canvased with ecological paint that puts some pizzazz on a plain stucco wall. This environmental and architectural project is run by designers Mikel Elorduy, Blanca Elorduy and Pablo Serrano in an effort to revitalize the area by attracting sparrows.
This grid-like design creates a colorful facade to a lifeless wall and with natural light; the bird houses cast shadows to create a funky effect. Urban Nests by Dom Arquitectura is an architectural project that strives to relate to the environment and natural urban landscape by reviving avian life in the area.
