MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects -- a practice based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, has envisioned three upscale cabin silhouettes that "employ the same design vocabulary and offer views of the scenic landscape." The proposal is tied to a project in Ontario's Muskoka region.
Each upscale cabin is designed to facilitate a close relationship between architecture and nature, one accenting the other at all times. Thus, MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects created structures with increased "emphasis on transparency between roof and floor, and earth and sky."
The first model is dubbed 'Linear on the Lake' and it presents an elongated residence. The second is called 'Pinwheel on the Meadow,' consisting of "two offset bars." Finally, the third upscale cabin is called the 'Court in the Woods' and it boasts an L-shaped plan.
