Long distance social drinking is now possible thanks to the Untappd app. The Untappd app is an app that lets you share what beer you are drinking with your friends. The app also lets you track what your friends are drinking and lets you post pictures of your current brew of choice.
Besides allowing you to stalk your friends as they drink from afar, the Untappd app also lets you rate the beers you are currently drinking. You can also check into the brewery or bar you are currently at and can earn badges for trying new beers or for drinking a lot. I am not a huge fan of "checking into" places, but the idea doesn't sound so bad when it involves beer. The Untappd app is currently available in Web form and for both the iPhone and Android handsets.
