Researchers at the University of Leuven have come up with a new type of technology that enables people to create a mugshot of someone completely based off DNA. Perhaps crime cases of the future will no longer need sketch artists and someone to describe a person's facial details.
The 3D image is generated from a person's biological material, which means if police can find DNA evidence at a crime scene, they could find the perpetrator without having to rely on eye witnesses. This development could be huge for the police industry, saving both time and money on various investigations. Hopefully the accuracy of this technology improves over time, however it's still quite good looking at the photos provided by the University of Leuven's research team.
