'Unity Game Services' is a suite of tools created to assist in the backend development of games and other software created on the 'Unity Engine,' or created through other Unity software. Unity Game Services has been in its beta testing phase for several months and is now being released fully.
Some of the tools included in this suite of services are 'Cloud Code,' 'Economy,' 'Relay,' 'Lobby,' and 'Athentication.' Each of these tools streamlines different aspects of software development for backend developers. For example, the Economy tool provides developers with an easy way to create an in-game economy and currency, including convenient in-app purchases. Additionally, the Relay tool allows developers to create secure "peer-to-peer" connections instead of having to purchase a full suite of host servers.
Unity will continue to improve upon its Unity Game Services by streamlining tools and releasing more tools.
