Advanced Tactics and Rotor X have collaborated to create a two-seater helicopter, dubbed the ATRX-700, that is designed to leverage military technology into the civil aviation space.
Announced in the wake of a recent Federal Aviation Authority announcement that is expected to make it easier to allow for lightweight sport helicopters to enter the airspace, the 'ATRX-700' is essentially a sport helicopter that is designed to be easy to fly even for inexperienced pilots, with only 30 hours of flight training required thanks to the use of automated flight control systems.
This particular two-seater helicopter is fitted with a 180-horsepower engine and is capable of attaining a cruising speed of 160 km/h whilst carrying a maximum payload of 650 pounds. Available via preorder for $188,000, this helicopter is said to offer a range of 480 km.
