The Two Circles Chair Embodies Minimalist Geometries for a Contemporary Look
Amelia Roblin — December 10, 2013 — Art & Design
The Two Circles Chair is the perfect piece of furniture for a space that needs a bit of a punch without any frills. This modern armchair is bold in form, yet wonderfully crisp. Such is achieved with the timeless visual tool of geometry.
Kebei Li has constructed a rigid and rectilinear frame from welded metal, with four legs that flare slightly and a bent U-shaped support for the backrest and the arms. On top of this, a pair of components were crafted from plywood and cut circularly; the seat panel remains perfectly flat while the rear piece has been treated to a gentle and ergonomic curve. The entire Two Circles Chair is finished in a charcoal color that would suit just about any space. Against light-hued walls especially, it would simply bounce.
