Toronto’s TTC is Celebrating 100 Years with Novelty Items
Caitlyn Fernandez — November 25, 2021 — Pop Culture
The Toronto Transit Commission, better known as the TTC, has provided public transportation to Torontonians for 100 years, and to commemorate it, it has released the TTC100 collection.
To celebrate its century-long run, the TTC has made novelty items such as t-shirts, sweaters, prints from all the decades, stickers, notecards, magnets, mugs, and a TTC100 coffee table book (available as a physical or digital copy).
The TTC was created in 1921 because of a Provincial Act from 1920 where the Commission took over nine existing fare systems within the city limits and put them together. Today the TTC consists of 5 subway lines, multiple streetcar and bus routes, and connects to other outer city transportation.
Consumers can purchase the TTC100 collection on the TTC shop website.
