The Trizin Stool collection may sport a simple aesthetic, but the construction of each seat is a lot more complex than it first appears. Using little to no hardware, including any type of glue and adhesives, each seat has been constructed out of raw wood materials. By testing the physical boundaries of this raw wood, namely plywood, the Trizin Stool collection revolves greatly around tensioned pressure and strategically placed wedges, which is what the word 'Trizin' means in Hebrew.
Created by Michael Blumfeld, a recent industrial design graduate from the Shenkar College of Engineering hailing from Tel Aviv, the Trizin Stool collection was presented during the Salone del Mobile exhibit. The unique use of wedges not only helps to hold each stool together, it also gives them their sleek, sloping shape.
