People come up with creative ideas all the time, but who would have thought that tree-shaped islands, like the ones in Dubai, were a possibility? The world-famous city started out humble, but after an oil boom in the 20th century they were able to create man-made palm tree-shaped islands among many other incredible things.
Other cool additions to the city were desert horse races, an indoor ski resort called 'Ski Dubai' and seven star luxury hotels. Architects got so ambitious they created the tallest building in the world, the 'Burj Khalifa.' In this building resides the Dubai mall, which is also the largest mall in the world.
The city is a huge tourist site with many extreme sights to see, and they're not finished yet -- they are currently building the world's largest airport.
