Taking inspiration from the Porsche Sport Driving School in Hockenheimring, Germany, which was first launched more than 40 years ago, the Porsche Track Experience is now hosted in more than 16 countries, where the luxury auto brand has set up driving programs for sportscar enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Launching in Canada in 2017, the Track Experience is located just outside the city of Toronto, where drivers can enroll in four programs that are tailored to different skill levels: Warm-Up, Precision, Performance, and Master. Each program is led by certified Porsche-trained professional instructors, who take participants through a series of exercises to get them more comfortable behind the wheel.
In each program, students will be able to experience an array of the brand's premium vehicles, including the 911 Carrera S and 4S, 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4, and the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S—Porsche's powerful all-electric vehicle.
Depending on their familiarity with the brand's sportscars, participants can start their training with either the half-day Warm-Up or the one-day Precision program. In addition to receiving a breakdown on proper handling and road safety, students will have the chance to complete laps on the track—where they'll really get an idea of the sportscars' precise handling and power.
After successfully completing the Precision program, students can enroll in the Performance and Master programs, both of which run over the course of two days. Here, instructors will increase the pace on the track, challenging participants to perfect their skills while always maintaining proper technique. Should they complete these levels, students can progress onto Porsche's Masters RS program, or take advantage of the brand's Ice Experience, which allows them to master sports driving in winter conditions.
Those interested in enrolling in the Porsche Track Experience can do so by registering online. The brand is set to host a series of training programs for its Canadian school throughout October 2020, which are currently open for registration while spaces last.
