The Toyota Baby Lunar Cruiser has been conceptualized by the CALTY Design Research studio in collaboration with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) as a future-facing interplanetary vehicle design.
The vehicle boasts the essential technology for exploring the harsh environments on other planets along with the traditional form of the original FJ40 Land Cruiser 4x4. The concept vehicle boasts a series of in-wheel motors and dual joysticks for control to put as much control into the operator's hands as possible.
The Toyota Baby Lunar Cruiser is imagined with airless tires and an augmented reality (AR) dashboard that will display live feeds from the vehicle's full camera array along with its LiDAR and radar sensors. The interior also features adjustable seating inside the cabin with MOLLE panels for holding gear.
