Whisky is typically considered the purview of North American distilleries, but those distilleries aren't necessarily precluded from collaborating with fellows across the pond, as Tom Dixon's Johnnie Walker Capsule Series shows. The limited-edition luxury whisky series was designed by Tom Dixon, the famed British designer, and it includes a bottle, ice bucket, coaster, and cap, all of which are crafted bespoke.
The clearest aesthetic across Tom Dixon's Johnnie Walker Capsule Series is the use of a copper cage. The grated motif includes a tall cage that contains the designer bottle as well as a covering for the ice bucket. The cap and coaster are also colored with copper, though they are both solid rather than perforated.
The Capsule Collection was unveiled at Milan Design Week 2017 and will make it to consumers by October of 2017.
