Brown & Brown Architects has designed the tranquil Tidal House for a retired couple who are looking to transition from the busy city life in Edinburgh to a more calming environment. On the northern side of the home is a smoked clay brick facade to give the home a sturdy structure.
The southern side has a contrasting aesthetic with wooden cladding to truly reflect the coastal fluidity. The Tidal House is meant to age gracefully as time passes and the root of the design is a captivating three-sided courtyard rooted by a bright acer Fireglow tree, forming a functional and visual divider -- this is nestled between the main living spaces and the artist's studio.
