The Elio is a three-wheeled car that looks like it is a cross between a sedan and a tuk tuk. In a way, it really does lean towards the latter as it is extremely fuel efficient. So much so that the three-wheeled car will soon be hitting the market by late 2015. There are already 25,000 people lined up with reservations for when that specific day comes.
Set to be manufactured in Louisiana, the three-wheeled car has been touring around the country and was most recently spotted at Comic-Con. CEO Paul Elio says, “It’s always been cheaper to drive a clunker than a new car. This is the first time it’s been cheaper to drive a new vehicle. I think there’s probably enough of what I call 'desperation sales' to damn near fill the factory up."
