ThirdEye, an augmented and mixed reality technology company, has partnered with FirstNet, the first responder-dedicated broadband communications platform. The partnership allows ThirdEye's X2 MR Glasses and RespondEye to access the platform and provide first responders with a new way to find, record, and transmit important data during a call.
The X2 MR Glasses and RespondEye software were previously tested in telehealth/telepresence pilot programs with two fire departments in Pennsylvania, allowing first responders to contact a doctor for assistance and stream live video from the scene. The RespondEye software is compatible with iOS/Android phones and tablets, and is currently free for first responders.
The partnership with FirstNet was welcomed by Scott Agnew, assistant vice president of product marketing for FirstNet at AT&T, who said it helps further the mission of deploying, operating, maintaining, and enhancing the only nationwide wireless platform dedicated to public safety and supporting public safety response.
