You'd be hard-pressed to find a shopping cart redesign more radical than the UpCart. The UpCart is a unique shopping trolley designed by Evan Gurgi's that looks more suited to hold coats than groceries.
The UpCart is built to be light and easy to pull around the store. The cart has several small bins that protrude from the stalk of the cart. The bins at the bottom are designed to hold heavier items with the bins at the top built to hold lighter ones. Each bin comes lined with a bag ensuring that the transition from cart to register is smooth and easy. The cart is still just a concept, and it seems unlikely that grocery stores will ever ditch the ancient four-wheeled cart in favor of a design like the UpCart. Dare to dream.
