Iridescence is an irresistible quality, and 'The Light Chair', a new piece of furniture from industrial designer Taehwan Kim, takes advantage of that. The chair is covered in a material that gives it a constantly shifting chromaticism -- a trait both delicate and attractive.
The Light Chair's seat and back are made out of a flexible plastic, but that plastic is covered in a material called dichroic film. This film scatters light as it passes through while simultaneously reflecting light. In combination with the totally transparent plastic that forms the substance of the chair, the total visual effect is spectacular. Further, since the polymers are all resistant to the elements, The Light Chair is an ideal piece of outdoor furniture.
