Spanish design studio Tempuraturas Extremes designed The Bird & Mammal Shelter and Water Reservoir which is meant to camouflage with trees in a forest. It is located in Luxembourg and is made to provide shelter for nesting birds and bats right in the protected forest for the water company. It is able to hold up to 1,000 cubic meters of water and is designed by the studio to provide shelter for swallows.
The co-founder of the firm, Andrés Cánovas shares the design process with Dezeen, noting "The primary challenge was integrating this water infrastructure into a natural environment, such as a forest. This required careful attention to the fragmentation of the volumes and the textures of the materials, ensuring that the large structure blended harmoniously with its surroundings."
