In an effort to aid and support passengers with non-visible impairments, Transport for London (TfL) will be trialling new TfL badges. Beginning yesterday (September 12, 2016), the blue badges and cards will be available for all services to customers with hidden disabilities and read "Please offer me a seat."
TfL is hoping to recruit 1000 people to participate in this trial campaign, to see if the priority seating system makes a difference for those who struggle to stand. Research agency 2CV is also helping with this TfL badge initiative. The idea is badge and card carriers won't have to explain themselves to those they identify themselves to, because "not all disabilities and conditions are visible."
