The 'Tekrapod' flotation device is a discreet solution for avid swimmers or aquatic enthusiasts that will offer them a way to stay prepared for trouble when heading into the water. Developed by Ireland-based swimmer and engineer John Hanley, the device works by being worn snugly on the swimmer's back and staying out of the way as they move in the water. If they get into trouble or experience fatigue, a ripcord can be pulled to activate a replaceable CO2 cartridge and provide a flotation device for swimmers to rest on until they're ready to continue or assistance arrives.
The 'Tekrapod' flotation device can also be fitted with an optional waterproof LED strobe light to ensure swimmers are always visible to boaters and others in the water.
