American artist Tara Tucker creates realistic portraits of animals and adds elements of natural fantasy and magical realism to create amazing drawings. Working mostly with graphite on paper, Tucker is inspired by the natural world and draws her subjects with exact precision and a keen attention to detail.
At first glance, many of Tara Tucker's drawings could be mistaken for classic zoological illustrations but the addition of floral gardens on the animals' backs or the odd mix of combinations (a warthog and two owls) give away the fantastic nature of these pieces.
