NTT Comware has created a remote 3D virtual sensing system. By sitting in front of a 3D display and putting on an actuator glove, that provides feedback, you sense that you are actually touching the object on the display. For now this only works in one direction but I'm sure interest from the porn industry will surly spur this technology along.
Implications - What's cool about this technology is that it displays 3D images without the need to put on those bulky glasses. A pair of cameras captures and processes the data of the objects being filmed which then combines the two video images into a three-dimensional one. The gloves do work in real time, so there's no delay allowing for more of a natural experience.
