As much as a tag for luggage is useful for identifying one's luggage and providing a return address should one's suitcase be lost, luggage tags rarely serve additional purposes beyond the airport. KLM is looking to change this by introducing the KLM Care Tag, which makes it possible for a traveler to have additional assistance from a KLM crew member, even after they have left their flight.
For passengers who visit Amsterdam this coming September, KLM will be offering a limited number of its Care Tags, which feature location-based tips on navigating the city, voiced by some of its own crew members. Users will be able to affix the smart luggage tag to a piece of clothing or a bag and receive guidance when walking, cycling or sightseeing in the area.
