SwiftGo Enhances In-Store Shopping with Carts, Apps and Weighing Devices

At Retail's BIG Show, the National Retail Federation's annual conference, start-up SwiftGo introduced a range of smart shopping solutions to improve the brick-and-mortar experience for consumers.
The start-up's "next-gen in-store shopping experience" addresses the fact that many retailers are now implementing scanning apps that allow consumers to bypass the checkout line, yet theft remains a large concern. At the trade show, SwiftGo previewed a weighing device that detects items as they are placed into a shopper's cart. Once it is time for a consumer to pay, integrated red lights on the shopping cart will alert store staff in the case that an item has not been properly accounted for.
As more consumers look to find the ease of the online shopping experience in-store, scan-and-go shopping systems and smart carts are becoming integral parts of the retail store of the future.
