The New Sunne Lamp by Sunne is Powered by Solar Energy
Amy Duong — January 13, 2023 — Art & Design
Dutch lighting imprint Sunne works in collaboration with designer Marjan van Aubel to create the Sunne lamp, which mimics sunlight and is exclusively powered by solar energy. The light features photovoltaic cells and is designed to be hanging along the front of a window to enable the design to collect solar energy throughout the day and light up at night. The structure is designed to follow the appearance of a horizon and hangs along two wires attached to both ends at the top.
There are three settings -- Sunne Rise, Sunne Light, and Sunne Set, all of which can be controlled through the app. Marjan van Aubel notes that "The sun is an unlimited free source of energy and is key to fighting our climate crisis. By embedding solar technology, like Sunne, into our everyday lives, together we can accelerate the transition to a solar-powered future."
