Firefly, the rideshare advertising startup, recently acquired Strong Outdoor. Kaan Gunay, the CEO and co-founder of Firefly, stated that part of the deal dictates that Firefly will now operate Strong Outdoor's taxi advertising. Currently, the taxi advertising program of Strong Outdoor is not digital, however, Firefly stated that it will work towards transitioning the ads to digital formats.
Gunay stated that with the new deal, the company will have approximately 42% of the market share for transportation service ads in New York City. The CEO also stated that despite the venture to non-digital ads, the company will continue to operate in technologically-integrated advertising formats in the future.
Firefly also has a history of working with several prominent brands including Puma, Dunkin', 7-Eleven, Postmates, and more.
