These pretty street ballet practitioners have been snapped outside of their usual dancing environments. Photographer Lisa Tomasetti has spent eight years collecting these surreal and elegant images on the streets on Paris, Tokyo and New York. The humorous and charming photographs depict the ballerinas in quirky settings, like at the street entrance to a Paris Metro, leaping up into the air at the Shinegawa Statio train station in Japan and even outside a Brooklyn brownstone apartment.
Photographer Lisa Tomasetti even managed to get the cygnets from a Swan Lake production to dance across a zebra crossing on Sixth Avenue, New York. The images feature some of the finest ballet dancers from Australia. These images are currently on display at the James Makin Gallery in Lisa’s native Australia.
